November 2025

Comrades, Auxiliary and those who support the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 445 had the honor of hosting the reunion for the USS George Washington Carver SSBN-656 men on October 21, 2025. The event was a great success. Thank you to all those who showed up and donated their time to welcome these men and women to our post. We at Post 445 are more than willing to accommodate reunions and special events in honor of our Service Members.

On November 11th, beginning at 11:00AM, we will honor all Veterans with our annual Veteran's Day Ceremony. Although traditionally it has been the American Legion Post 147 that places the flags at the cemeteries for our departed Veterans, I encourage all of you to join in the placing of the flags.

This is the month of thanks and appreciation. Thank you to all of those who have served, continue to serve, and have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country. I want to wish each and every one of you a Happy Holiday Season filled with family and friends. Please join us at the post on Thanksgiving where we will open our doors at 1:00PM to serve you.

Please remember to donate your time or other resources to assist Veterans in need. Volunteerism is always welcomed at the Ralph H Johnson VA Hospital as well as our post home- Rear Admiral J.J. Raby Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 445

Wishing the best of luck to our Voice of Democracy, Patriots Pin and Teacher of the Year Participants

    October 2025

Comrades, Auxiliary and those who support the Veterans of Foreign Wars,
The end of September was a great success. We have assisted several Veterans throughout James Island.  October will be a busy month as we gear up to find our winners of the Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen contests. I also will be meeting with the Town of James Island regarding our input to the how the Town of James Island can better support the resident Veterans and their families.  The VFW celebrates its birthday with additional legislative agendas to bring more support to the medical needs of our Veterans. Come visit the post when you can. We are always ready and willing to assist the youth of the community and educate them on the history of the armed services, the US flag etiquette and how the Veterans of Foreign Wars gives back to the community.  Thank you all and we look forward to seeing you at the Post.
