September 2025

Comrades, Members of the Auxiliary, and those that support the mission of the VFW:

We have hit the ground running in many positive ways as a group to improve our post home in short order. I want to thank all of those that have rolled up their sleeves to work hard in helping to improve our post. We have a long way to go, but have really done a great job in a short period of time. This is not possible without your support. The excitement is contagious.

In the month of August, I was invited to speak at the Town Hall Meeting for the Town of James Island. I shared the mission of the VFW. To assist our community, we have adopted the flags raised at the base of Ellis Creek. Change is in inevitable and it is going to take every one of us to move the mission of the VFW forward. I am personally asking for everyone to volunteer. There are many things that can be done that will only take a small amount of your time. We are actively involved with the islands community, youth activities, and supporting veterans and their families. Please contact our service officer if you are or know of a veteran in need. The month of September brought our reverence to September 11th, the Birthday of the Airforce as well as the birth of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Come join us for all the events throughout the coming months in support of our brothers and sisters in uniform. Ill see you at the post.

Comrades, Auxiliary and those who support the Veterans of Foreign Wars,
The end of September was a great success. We have assisted several Veterans throughout James Island.  October will be a busy month as we gear up to find our winners of the Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen contests. I also will be meeting with the Town of James Island regarding our input to the how the Town of James Island can better support the resident Veterans and their families.  The VFW celebrates its birthday with additional legislative agendas to bring more support to the medical needs of our Veterans. Come visit the post when you can. We are always ready and willing to assist the youth of the community and educate them on the history of the armed services, the US flag etiquette and how the Veterans of Foreign Wars gives back to the community.  Thank you all and we look forward to seeing you at the Post.
